Microsoft Small Business Server 4.5 more commonly known as SBS 4.5 is an intergraded suite of products designed to meet the need of most small business. The suite consists of the following products:
Microsoft Windows NT4 Server (Server Network Operating System)
Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 (Email & Groupware)
Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0 (Shared Interconnection, accelerator & control)
Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 (SQL Database)
Microsoft FAX Server (Shared FAX Solution)
Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0 (Internet & Intranet Website Server)
Small Business Sever is sold at a fraction of the total cost of purchasing all these products individually. Due to this Microsoft have added restrictions to this product. These are:
All applications must be installed on the same server.
There is a 50 user limit.
It does not support Trusts to other domains.
Exchange Server 5.5 does not support multiple sites.
Routing between to networks is not supported.
The SBS server must be the Primary Domain Controller.
